A Joint Endorsement of Rick Woodworth for Marco Island City Council

We are Bob Roth, Dave Rasmussen, and Andrew Tyler. Together with Rick Woodworth, we are the Managing Members of Clean Marco Waters, LLC, the organization we co-founded to advocate for the health of the waters that surround and define Marco Island. We have worked closely alongside Rick, and we are proud to endorse him for Marco Island City Council in the November 2026 election.
Clean Marco Waters exists because we believe residents deserve accurate information about the condition of our canals and bays, and a City government that acts on that information. Rick has been with us at the center of that effort. He has pressed for honest reporting of Marco Island's water quality, including formal objections to how nutrient exceedances have been reported, and he has built the case for Advanced Wastewater Treatment. He reads the reports, checks the numbers, and puts his name on the conclusions.
The three of us come to this work from scientific and technical backgrounds. Rick complements our group with his business and financial acumen, and over the past nine years he has learned the science as well. He does not form a position until he understands the numbers and the meaning behind them. Just as important, he takes the data and analysis our group develops and presents it, in context, in a form that residents without a technical background can understand. That is a skill Marco Island needs on its City Council.
Rick's commitment to the island did not start with our organization. He was appointed to the City's Waterways Advisory Committee in 2018, served as its Chairman from 2019 to 2020, and was reappointed to that committee in 2025. He was also appointed to the City's Audit Advisory Committee in 2020. Those are volunteer posts, and Rick treated them as serious work. Through that service he has come to know the City's department managers, the City Engineer, and most members of City Council.
He brings to that work more than 50 years of business experience. City Council decides how public money is spent and how major infrastructure gets maintained. Rick has spent his career doing exactly that kind of work responsibly, and we trust him to do it for Marco Island.
Marco Island's water is its economy, its property values, and its way of life. We want a Council member who understands that and who will insist on facts, and who will follow through. That is Rick Woodworth. We urge our fellow residents to vote for him.
